So Sunday funday is bringing the joy today.
Masters all bolted up, just hit the brake master with a file to make it fit… still annoyed but I’m moving on.
Moving onto brake lines!
Actually excited about this part. Clay was kind enough to lend me his tube bender and flaring tool for the job.
Went out and bought all the tube and fittings and I’ll have a play to see what I can make up.
Question …. Is brake line ‘coil’ shroud actually required?
I’ll have to cause it down if necessary but I don’t have it for today…

yes.

prevents crimping
prevents shock
you can buy it new from the same place that sold the bundy tube

Thanks for the advice, the bloke at the brake shop in St Marys said the coil just stopped the tube rubbing on the chassis and all it did was catch mud and I’m better off leaving it off.
If Holden did it in the factory I guess I should do the same here now.
Anyways first two pipes done for the master cylinders.

i had i pipe that rubbed, fractured and gave me zero brakes at 80kmh.
fit dual circuit brakes unless you want to wipe that mo off your face.

he sells the complete kit, just not pictured. anyone that knows James and the quality of his product would know he wouldn't sell an incomplete or substandard kit of any sort. no biggie though, plenty guys swear by his product as all of them are as close as factory as you will ever getgpi wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 8:03 am they look good, but are missing the pieces that are bonded to the main piece that go over the subframe ribs

Two types of tubing spring:
a) the temporary type. You fit these over the tube, bend it by hand then remove the spring. It prevents tube crimping. Can buy these springs in Bunnings.
b) the permanent type. Prevents chafing (at least until the spring wears through too) and rock damage. Collects debris. Not sure you can buy this type anymore. I left mine off, and just took care when running the tubing to ensure no rubbing.
PS: notice you found the 3-way brass block... where was it hiding?

Also we drive on 5% of the dirt roads that we had in 1960 so it’s a fair bet that the brake lines will be pretty safe.
As for the brass block… actually did not find the original…
Had to molest the ‘carton or beer’ wreck and it was in poor condition, jury is out of it will even seal on the flare properly.
It’s got me decked where I put the original but I’m sure it will make an appearance when the subject is exhausted.
Regardless I’m pushing on.
Front brake lines in place and the rear part of fuel line somewhat in shape.
Now I’m thinking I don’t need the coil spring I’ll finish all the lines off and that will be job done.

Running tubing goes one of two ways. When done right, it is really rewarding. When you stuff it up, it drives you round the bend (nyuck nyuck nyuck).
If you get stuck for the brass block, give me a yell. I've only just taken the one out of the FB to run the disk brakes. I have no idea where I put it, but it will be on top of the pile, wherever it is

Thats crazy money. Same problem as others anyway- the piece that is supposed to wrap around the subframe mount on the firewall does not fit at all.

From the photos it's a nice product, but at that kind of cash it would want to be concourse. Very concourse.

These are 100% identical to GMH."
I've pulled more than a few of these apart (and I might be wrong) but pretty sure the GMH horsehair is not fibreglass on the back of these.
