Carby guy phoned me today to update on progress which is nice, and they are due next week some time. Also to pre-warn me of the cost I suspect. There are two of them I suppose. Filters due today. Just need to work out fuel lines when I get them fitted, and linkage.

Hah hah, new story from rare spares on the column rebuild kit. Last week when I ordered the guy said here in a week. I wasn't overly optimistic. Week later they are now saying mid February. I will send off what I have here which looks ok. All has to come apart to do the shift conversion so he can work his magic on it while he is at it. Will be nice to have a strong gear box so I can tax the diff while I decide between both Warner and 28 spline trutrac.

Can’t say I’m surprised about the rare spares ETA’s, I honestly think they have the same policy I had with my ex wife…
It’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission…
In other words getting you money first is their primary concern…

Yes they’ve got my order Drew but no cash. Vevour on the other hand took $100 off me over a month ago for an ultrasonic cleaner that they don’t appear to have to forward for shipping.

I have all the brackets and bits here to put mudflaps on my ute but the front ones interfere with putting it on the hoist - still undecided if I should fit them or not :?
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I don't think you should put them on Blacky. Better idea is to sell those front ones to me😀

Clay,

Looking at the sandblasted rear bottom quarter, I would suggest you put them on to late !!!!!!

I suppose it will help moving forward.

Clay looking good.
I’m trialing some stone guard product along the bottom of the sills prior to paint so may be a good chance to apply to the rear 1/4. That said my rear mud flaps have done a pretty good job to protect the rear 1/4 and they are set up the same as yours.

Are you putting front flaps on?
Keen to see how you do it.
I have a pair sitting there for 10 years and haven’t worked out how to attach them other than like a roof plumber (large tek screws, silicon, swearing, etc)
Unsure if there is attaching hardware I’m missing?

Thanks

And it’s only on the passenger side Greg, supporting my theory on roadside gravel damage. I think fuel leaking past the cap has helped there as well. The stone guard actually seemed to help th3 paint come off a bit easier. Might have to blow a touch up on there now.

Actually I put them on in a bid to suck up to the authorities. Still considering on the front ones. Poor me don’t have a hoist. Talk about first world problems blacky.

Saw your reply afterward blackdog. I’ll drag the front mudflaps out later. They have some steel fixings could be made up. On the rears I used a combination of gutter bolts to brackets, and pop rivets to body.

The gutter bolts I cut off the ends and hammered flattish, effectively riveting anyway. They won’t come loose.
