Street Machine Assc of SA Show & Shine Feb 08

Post by Thommo »

Heres some pics of todays SMASA S n' S.

The day started with a bit of an incident involving the sprinklers.
The sprinklers suddenly turned on, in one corner of the oval
This sent owners dashing back to their, opened for display cars,
madly closing doors and shutting bonnets.
It was shock, and disbelief for some owners, and laughter from others.
The laughter soon dissappered when the first set shut down
and the next set sprang to life.
The sprinklers work with such force that 100kg blokes could not stand on them to hold them down.
Traffic cones, rubbish bins, even spare wheels were employed to trap the spray and keep it from drowning the cars.
Thats EK61 in the forground, wondering which set will turn on next.

He's not the only one  I had a mate who used to call them a ticket to race! His theory was they'd got you for the night you'd be right then. Unless of course they got nasty and did instant stop to all fun....

So what was it for, blower related?

I assume it was DR. :(
It seems ok to have a 'T' bucket with a blower and scoop up to drivers eye level, like a couple in attendance :? (not pictured)
but you cant have one poking through a bonnet :x
maybe if the XR owner had removed the bonnet like the 'T'buckets, there may not be a problem

Cheers

Thanks guys for the pics.

Love the 48-215 drag car.

Oh and the lighting e-kween looks the part too, good to see people taking the lighter side approach to car shows.

Sprinklers, whats the bet that was planned, some sydney bloke set it up, in order to make you guys understand what our weather is like here at the moment. Either that, or it was a sly way to organise a wet t shirt comp....
