I put one in my shed, it has its advantages, streaming music, accessing online info etc - but now the bloody phone works in there , it never used to which was a blessing .....

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Clay,
7429673 is for EJ, early EH 149 (by the shape of the gaskets). You have eight thrust washers and two sets of cluster shaft needle rollers, so two kits have been combined. "Grey" needle rollers are shorter than "red", and you have the spacers which each end of the needle roller stack. If you have 38 loose needle rollers, they'd be the ones. Trial-fit the thrust washers on an old grey cluster shaft and reverse gear shaft to find out which are which. If the washers are a rattly fit on the cluster shaft, they're for the "red" gearbox. The expansion plugs are a standard 3/4" size, I think. Should be available loose from a bearing supply place.
Or are you going to rebuild a "red" crashbox? (I've just discovered an HR clutch cover)

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Thanks Rob. I probably should have checked instead of taking the vendors word, but it came up and I grabbed it.

Ok ok, I know you're sick of hearing about wheels, but anyway these are going on the front to eliminate rubbing for the first time since I had to move on the stock rims due to disc brake up grade. They are 185/65R14 that have been white banded by someone and were previously on the 5" rims I got the centres from. Same height as stock tyres.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
They seem to be a bit wider than normal and wobbly looking, but whatever rocks your boat Clay

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Wobbly? 185 on a six inch rim so yes wider.

You got me there, but may back fire on you Brett as now I will have to elaborate further.
I’ve been very faithful to the local tyre dealer, a small hard working family business. They live in the next street to me. Mandy is the “boss” and Wayne the brawn. Mandy being the brains, does the balancing. She balanced up my home made rims and said they came up very well, thank you very much. As I’m such a good customer they swapped the tyres, fitted valves and balanced for no charge, one day turn around. As you can imagine they have done this for me on several occasions. Their son does the aligning and very cheap servicing. Good people. Bridgestone Select Willunga Tyre and Battery, servicing all makes and models.

Great that your rims balanced up well. Another example of local expertise and good service.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Good to know mate, im currently in the shed having a crack at my spare steelie , it would be good to know how many mm or how much you can be out before they can't balance or you notice it vibrate when driving. I got it with in 1mm on the vern gauge and now on the dial gauge with the slightest hammer taps to the rim I'm getting it with in 0.1mm... so far , i haven't welded it in yet though that may flex it out of wack.
