Re: Gimme 5 years
starting to warm up so I'm back in Canberra ... lots of deliveries while I was away ... only opened a few so far
some steering bits from Clay
and thanks for throwing in some brake bits Clay
so there's one less thing that needs maintaining, I got a pertronix ignitor and flame thrower coil
went to the spares cupboard (saw I've now got 5 distributors) and made up a pertronix distributor (then the one currently in the car can be a slip-in spare)
and I heard that aussie speed alloy rocker covers quieten tappets (so I wont have to adjust them)

I wonder how we cope breathing in the amount of pollen that is in the air when you see everything coated in yellow some days. Fortunately this spring there has been so much rain that its washed off every second day.

Re: Gimme 5 years
Yeah, I did it
They can also hang here so I don't get the fines and demerits
Re: Gimme 5 years
I recently adjusted the tappets to 8 thou and 12 thou 'hot'.
I was putting on the rocker cover today, so I thought I might as well check the 'cold' gap because I've never seen it listed anywhere.
So at 20 degrees ambient temperature my engine's 'cold' gaps are 7 thou and 10 thou. Then I got the engine up to operating temperature and double checked they were still at 8 thou and 12 thou 'hot'.
The rocker cover came with h-nuts but no seals... I phoned the supplier and they said Aussiespeed don't offer a solution - and people make up their own seals. Another option would be longer studs and then the nuts could sit on top of the normal seals and washers (but having different thread at the head end to the nut end doesn't make that an easy fix)
You also need a bit of height or the nut hits the fins. I'll see how I go with a washer and o-ring for now ... and have a think about it
