Having abandoned the comfort and companionship of my mates at Alex head, next stop RS main warehouse at Slacks Creek. Big expensive toy shop.

Then on to pick up an Astor 8 radio intended for the van, at Bannockburn. No apparent speaker output. Possibly an integral speaker? Missing tube nuts and knobs but has a good fascia and good price in today s market.

Next stop Kirra Grrenmount Snapper Rocks at the south end of the gold coast, which was flat. Then over the border to Cabarita, which had plenty of swell, and some sort of contest going with jet skis on shark patrol.

Decided to press on in search of a free camp along the estuary at Pottsville, but yhougjt better of it a nd motors on up to Mullimbimby and an unpowered site at the showgrounds.

Went in search of some snags at Woolies to cook on the tailgate but none to be found. Bloody heathens. At least they had a carton of the good stuff, as the last one evaporated in the Sunshine Coast conviviality.ImageImageImageImageImageImage

T bone turned out pretty good. Only forecast down to 12 overnight.

Bit of a surprise on checking in to the park. I spotted a wet patch under the car. The manifold heating hose had dropped off the bottom thermostat housing outlet. This led me to tighten up all the hose clamps. Seems to be minimal coolant loss. Two 10 year old girls wanted to know how old the Ute was so i told them the year and they had a couple of goes at working out the age.Image

Big bar of chocolate Clay. A new history of the world? Wasn't the old history bad enough? Enjoy your camp out.

That looks like our regular Nullarbor accommodation , just add a couple of folding chairs , a campfire and a bottle of red .... 8)
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Yes, I miss the wide open spaces where you can camp out and light a fire. Too many two legged animals around here.

Finally some decent waves at Lennox Head this morning. ImageImage

Did see a giant prawn at balina but CBF to stop. On the ferry. $6.50 toll!

Ferryman called car a heap then asked what year it was. Couldn't believe I drove it from SA ignorant pig!Image

Thanks.

Lost first and reverse gears on a hill start in Evans Head. I was able to get going by slipping the clutch but doesn't bode well for Sydney driving.

I'm heading for Coffs Harbor on the M1. I don't suppose anyone has a spare crash box I could "borrow"? I only need half of it really (not really).

Hi Clay, I've got a grey one too if you can make it that far and that's the box you need. Sounds like selector?
