Hey Clay, you may have covered this(if so sorry), but why did you decide to install a rear sway bar ?

Brett,
Something I've been thinking of for about 40 years and just needed to get out of my system. Front bar is 25mm, car will be low with wide rims. Should go up and down Willunga Hill nicely once u get gearing right. Going to work on my local historic car club and see if we can do a club day hill climb. I like throwing the old biscuits around a few curves now and again. Specially with the power on up hill.

Disc front needs a clean up. I'm hoping the ball joint rubbers are ok. Engine mounts need to come forward about 15mm by the looks. Too much to fudge. Will have to cut them off and dummy up in engine bay.Image

Clay,

I'd better pm you with a secret sauce recipe for HR front suspensions: roll centre height adjustment. Can only be done with the front suspension off the vehicle.

And - I seem to remember something about a front crossmember bolt being the right height to use as a Tool 3A-Whatever Ball Joint Separator. You need an extra 7/16" UNF nut on the top ball joint stud to prevent mooshing of threads.

You can use GDB547 pads (KTG) in HR calipers instead of GDB525 by filing out the guide pin holes in the pad.

"Going to work on my local historic car club and see if we can do a club day hill climb." Tell me when, and I'll be there with bells on.

I had visions of quickly throwing this together. Now I'm popping ball joints, re-locating control arms and moving engine mounts. 8) 8)

Started cutting off engine mounts today. They were originally cut and repositioned by me in 1986, and I can’t see myself cutting them without some butchering. To reuse them a second time would be optimistic at best. So thanks to advice from Neil I’ve ordered a pair of Pete Mallaby’s ones via eBay. I believe Neil drafted the original patterns for them. Thanks Neil. Now I can cut away and grind back nicely. The old HR crossmember will get a real birthday. May even straighten out the factory jacking dent in the underside. Regency park would no doubt like that.
