WALLY'S EK
Re: WALLY'S EK
Started getting the spare parts department organized - chasing two good ek front guards if there are any out there to hang if next to the bonnet.

Re: WALLY'S EK
Very Little happening at the moment as I wait for some bits to finish off the blower install.
Have had a bit of drama with breaks locking on and was going to pull the cylinders off and get them re-sleaved but they are as manky as all get out and the paint on them is already flaking off from previous re-furbs so I decided to splash out and use a Rares Voucher Dave Ryan had given me and bought a new set from them then sent them off to Powerbrakes in SA for the stainless sleeves as the fit of the pistons and rubbers in the rares cylinders leaves a bit to be desired.
Powerbrakes did a mint job - what do you guys use on them in terms of paint before install? Just some calliper black?
I didn't know at the time Powerbrakes can also supply new cylinders for around 60$ a corner - thought they only did the sleeving so I burnt a bit of coin on the rares ones but you win some you lose some.
Will get a mate to help me push it onto the hoist this week to see of I can find some time to replace them - doing the bleed is the tough bit on my own - any suggestions?

Re: WALLY'S EK
replace one corner at a time. once one corner is complete disassemble and replace the next. its a one person job with the right tools.
Re: WALLY'S EK
So do a bleed on each corner as I go should work ok?gpi wrote:replace one corner at a time. once one corner is complete disassemble and replace the next. its a one person job with the right tools.
It’s a PITA trying to get into cab when it’s on the hoist - might have to bribe a kid with kfc to be the pedal pumper lol

Re: WALLY'S EK
only needs to be high enough off the ground to get the wheels off
Re: WALLY'S EK
Get a cheap hand vacuum pump. You suck the air and fluid from the bleed nipple. Just need to make sure the reservoir is topped up. One man operation and no pedal pumping.

I have bought most of these through private sales rather than auctions - what do you need?

Re: WALLY'S EK
Does me no good at all to put all the good stuff on display - I'm looking for a twin Stromberg setup for my current project.

One there on the wall Rob - I’m hopeless putting stuff in boxes and forgetting I even have it so I thought if I put it on display I will not be able to forget at least for some thingsardiesse wrote:Does me no good at all to put all the good stuff on display - I'm looking for a twin Stromberg setup for my current project.
