wiper
Hi Theo,
I am just wondering if the diagram is actually FB - I note it is printed as FB/EK.
In answer to your question, there are two wires (leads) to your wiper motor - one brown, one black.......
The brown one comes from the Accessory terminal of the ignition switch.
It is marked at BAT on the wiper motor terminal board.
You will notice that there isn't a fuse marked wiper on your fuse panel - I believe this to be as a result of electric wipers being a modification to previous models..
There is, however, a fuse provided - it is "in line" and usually located above or beside the steering mast support - there should be a clip which holds it to the support. Make sure you switch your ignition "off" when replacing or checking this fuse as the wire (lead) will be live with your key switch "on".
The black one from the wiper switch - it is marked as SW on the terminal board.
The switch operates by providing the "earth or negative" to the wiper motor.
When your ignition is on, the wiper motor is live at all times - your wiper switch just makes the earth connection and completes the circuit to make the wiper motor run.
Hope this helps............
