Amen.

The hardest part is to keep your enthusiasm going over a long period of time. Many of us are guilty of having projects that have run for more than a decade. It is not like the car/bike shows on TV... it takes time. There will be days when it all seems too hard, or nothing goes right. Don't be afraid to walk away, and come back the next day. Too many car projects get started, pulled to bits then sold off.

Do a little every day, even if it is something small. It all adds up.

Cheers,
Harv

Congrats on your first pic, Vicky - lots and lots more to come now... you've mastered it.
Thanks fella's for the sound advice given... I do very much appreciate the restrictions Vicky has to work within and her need to keep going on a daily basis...
I again congratulate you, Vicky - for sharing with us this build - I have absolutely no doubt that this car will ever be sold off as parts...
There will come a time when you look at the mass of parts in storage and become over-borne with the workload to get it back together - but I can very much assure you, once you start that re-assembly - the pile on the floor starts to dwindle and your masterpiece begins to take shape.

When you look at some of the builds in this forum, you see the product.... not many see the work involved and the amount of time (in years - not days, weeks or months)...

To all of us that have been through the building of just one car.... we can see the work in the result.... I don't know how some members of this forum manage more than one at any given time... mine has more than sapped what must be half my life of spare time from me... I look back now, and simply can't tell you where this has all gone - but I can very much assure you.... it's in there "somewhere"...

Again - great thread... watching with keen interest as you progress...

Great advice given from those above - if you get stuck, don't hesitate to throw anything up in this thread and I'm certain you'll get prompt and very accurate advice and suggestion to work through it.....

We must remember, there are many members here who have brought their builds to creation... and the plethora of information and experience will speak for itself when you need to tap into it....

Hi all :) thought I'd share a bit more of what u have done already. I stripped floor when I fist stated working on her, unfortunately I've left rust converter too long and it has rusted on top so I will strip again when I can get some POR15 funds have stopped me from doing much. So I'm cleaning up my chrome to get things done. Finally undid the wires to take of front indicator chrome. So just finding things to do until I have funds again.

Boot looks pretty good Vicky, or is that a couple of holes where the shocker mount meets floor?
Cheers

The car looks to be quite good in that area !

I owned my car for most of its life and rust it did even though I sort of looked after it !

That's a great start so keep going.

Greg
these old holdens rust from inside out...they were rotten in 1965 some of them, my grandfather used to tell me how he made tops of EK headlight peaks and a special dolly to it in there to tap them up when they would rust when new :sickk:

She definitely has a few areas to cut out rust and weld, but not too bad with what I've seen from others out there, its minimal from what I can see so far, but I haven't stripped the outside yet lol so I shouldn't speak to soon lol

Thanx Rosco as I see the pile getting bigger with all the chrome parts to clean, but one by one there getting done and means one less thing to do later. Need to find more to do to wipe me out a bit like the boot and floor did. Why I wish I had wagon to do work on her lol can't sit still unfortunately. All the builds I'm watching on here have inspired me imensly :) makes me keep on at it :) cheers guys

All the usual places, Vicky - and yes, you'll more than likely find more the deeper you go...
Don't feel alone, we've all had to fix stuff up like this...
Keep up the good work...

Ohhh what a quiet year :( restoration course did not happen due to COVID, guttered. But I have found a teacher to help me weld. Not car related yet as I’m trying to make a few projects and get stuck into the cutting and repairing of rust. Any tips from anyone here would be be really appreciated. I have a donor car I can practice on also.
Was hoping I’d have all the rust cut out before summer hit here. Craving to work on something on her as it’s been too long :(
Fixed phone now so all good with posts now too :)

Hang in there Vicky, do what you can when you can and enjoy the ride. I too am going along slowly and figuring it out on the run (slow walk) with the help of forum members. Other than the great technical knowledge available here they are a constant source of inspiration.
