Alright I will let the cat out
I have a one piece front bumper and bumperettes that have been painted in 2 pak sort of gun metal grey I picked up off of ebay a while ago so I'm going to paint the tail light surrounds and head light surrounds the same. I think it wiill fit in better with the bumpers if the surrounds are the same.

I also have an FC rear bumper and I'm toying with the idea of turning into one piece and fitting, painted of course.

I've left the holes in the guards for the 3 little chevrons which I like, no bonnet letters or bird (anybody want one).

Now the rest you just have to wait and see.

Are we going to have a section for unfinished trailer queen projects at the nationals. if so I will get my entry in now even if just for the Tee shirt.

Hey Greg you didn't have 2 holes in the dash side by side above the ashtray for gauges did you by chance; I've never been able to track down where the body came from.

Not quite mate once I have it as a roller it has to go for the rest of the body work and paint and he tells me he thinks he has 3 months worth of work

No mate, it was all stock inside !

I am still kicking myself that I sold it, I put a new complete floor in it from a sedan actually oxy hammer welded it in, the big block 186 came after the grey "let go" on the first run the day before Summernats many moons ago ! The gearbox "let go" shortly after that so the 4 speed went in.
I didn't have it for a great deal of time because of wedding bells and the need for a house, I do miss it cause it was really well balanced and had enough power to scare you especially with the 6 inch skinnies I had on it !!!

Your car will look great in yellow pearl it suits the ute very well !!

Your guards must be off a special if they have holes for chevrons.

Way to go with the front bumper. Look forward to seeing it. The FC rear could work as you are deleting the spare door.

Hey Errol the guards are off of a special and maybe you can see why I called it Frankenstein when I bought it it was just the ute shell not even an ounce of wiring so bit have jsut come from where ever I can and I was very lucky to be given (yes given) a subchassis (needed repair) bonnet and guards by a very generous person and the same person lent me their rotis (that I can now return).

The forums are great places for like minded people.

had a special wreck once. All my cars seem to have been standards and commercials. I’ve got a lot of stainless guard spears in my stash.

I got into the workshop yesterday afternoon and masked off the firewall and sprayed some Septone Under Vehicle rust proofing/sound deadener, it is a bituminous product that I thought would be ok between the subchassis and the firewall without being too thick.

Wanted to get this on a couple of days before the weekend so that it is basically dry before the front goes on.

Hey Errol not sure what it was you were showing me mate the link didn't show me when I try to go there.

Anyway after some swearing, using a BFH, a chain block and trolley jack I have the subchassis and cross member suspension etc on the body. What a job by yourself.

I'll post some photos when I get back into the office Monday, now I have to finish the last couple of things in the tray.

Hi OZ that is a nice looking FC Ute mate the colour looks a little more yellow tham mine but real nice anyway.
The photos don't really show the colour of mine really properly I think.

Hey Neil, I saw two of these the same colour within about 5 minutes of each other on the freeway this morning - mate, we’ll all see you coming!! I pointed the first one out to the missus, and she likes the colour

Photos of front end installed, as I said in the previous post it was a bit of a bugger to get on but just had to have a little patience which is not one of my best attributes (hence FireKraka) and luckily only scratched a little of the colour which is hidden where the inners meet the firewall.





Not sure if I should fit the engine and gearbox yet or wait until it comes back if I put it in now it means I will not have to remove the bonnet again after it has been aligned by Keith
Might start fitting fuel and brake lines and get that stuff out of the way, anything I can do now will save time at the pointy end.
