Leaking Cooling Line or adaptor?

Post by paperboy »

Hi,
I'm leaking transmission fluid from the cooling lines/adaptor were it connects to the hydramatic, anyone know where I can buy new cooling adaptors that connect to the cooling lines, as I intend on replacing the cooling lines as well? Do the cooling adaptors fail/leak?
Thanks
Geoff

I'm thinking they're probably leaking due to the double flared ends being over tightened and cracking.
There's at least two companies in Canberra that could make your new lines.

Hi,
So I finally undid the leaking cooling line, but can't get it out its wedged between the dip stick and hydramatic. Do I need to remove the hydramatic dipstick to remove the line or do I cut the line? Sorry for the stupid questions.
Thanks

I would remove ALL the dirt, dust and crud from around where the dip stick tube enters the trans housing then remove the tube.

Any luck finding someone to remake the lines?

Haven't tried to get one made yet, I wanted to get it out first, will take it to hydraulic canberra to see if they can make one up, or I'm just going braided. How does the dipstick come out? Is it screwed in or pushed in?
Thank you

The tube pushes in, watch for the O-ring in the trans housing when you pull the tube out.

Ok I fitted new cooling line for the hydramatic and now it's leaking worse than it was before, is there a trick to installing the cooling lines so they seal properly, as its tightened but I don't want to over tight it.
Thanks
