Seat mechanism photos.

Post by Gingy »

Does anyone have a camper seat fitted in their car that they could take a couple of shots of the hinge mechanism for me? Cannot find a seat without travelling to the other side of Australia, so if I can get some pictures I can take it to my friendly neighbourhood welder and voila!!! It will also save me waving my hands about when i am explaining, I think he thinks I am a footy umpire without flags. Cheers

Do you really need one RIGHT NOW ??? I would be more inclined to get on with the other stuff that needs doing and keep an eye out on Epay and Gumtree (and here of course) and one is bound to turn up - they aren't THAT hard to get ......
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hi Blacky
Been chasing one for a long time to no avail. The reason I am trying to get a photo of the mechanism is that I am trying to get all my welding done through the winter, and get the interior trim sorted. Door trims and back seat are already done, wrapped in plastic and stored in the house shed, only the front bench remains!

Because I am doing this myself and dont have a lot of help in Adelaide I have to work a schedule around when I have friends coming down from the bush to help me. There is method to the seeming madness! For example I can get a paint job from a really great retired painter, it will cost me in metric cartons and some home cooked meals, but I have to be ready for the beginning of December, otherwise it will be next year!

Same goes with my welding, the more I can have prepared the more I can get done at the end of May, for the same sort of costs!!!! I have scoured the internet and cannot find anything on the mechanism used for the seat, I have even tried the Rambler and Chevy clubs overseas with no luck.

I have waited 20 years to drive this car, for the longest time I didnt think I would get her back, now Martha and I are going to do the road trips that have been put on hold for all this time.

So now you understand why it all seems to urgent, I am working to other peoples time frames, otherwise I could not afford to do this and Martha will still be in the shed in another 20 years!!!
