saw an interesting pic today on facebook of someone attepting to fit a 240k head on a grey motor the pic showed the cylinders lining up very well to the chambers on the head and he said that the bolt holes to hold the head down all but lined up aswell so will be quite interesting what comes of it

That's Mike. It's a slow process as he has heaps on. But it will be interesting. I have seen a half built OHC for a grey for a normal grey head with my own eyes. It was awsome.

Just got a call from the engine rebuilder , the head is good to go :D :D :D , it's staying grey powered for a while longer at least .........
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Put the head back on yesterday, cleaned the top of the block up ready to fit it and the bloody block is cracked in 4 places, on both sides of the head bolt holes on 2 of the holes on the drivers side through to the water galleries :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: bloody grey motors .................... :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:

I covered the threads with ultrablue and I will pressure test it once its all together and if it fails I am going to fill it with Chemiweld and hope for the best.

How did you go with your grey head? We still have some grey heads if need be. We can also repair cracks if they are easy to get to.

It's back on and seems to be OK so far , I also replaced the crank seal at the front but it is still leaking like a sieve....... :cry:
