NoMAD's Kustom FB Sedan
Re: NoMAD's Kustom FB Sedan
Looks very similar to the AAW kit I bought for my '57 , top quality gear
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: NoMAD's Kustom FB Sedan
yeah if yor a handy person and can do some nutting out and welding and you are doing a red conversion that needs engineering it isn't really alot more work to go V8, and i don't know about other states but in NSW we are starting to get raped with the cost of engineering so might aswell go for as big as you canMick Jagger wrote:

Re: NoMAD's Kustom FB Sedan
pretty much nothing much different from doing a 6 install except maybe the exhaust to be honest... pretty much as you told me before Mick.
spacing's are a bit finer but no rocket science
hoping my Radiator rocks up this week and then apart from the exhaust and a sump the engine bay can almost be torn down and welding finished off in that regards... this list is getting shorter in regards to getting it to paint!
Cheers

Managed to get some bits ordered and some work done in the car... Found some MDF I had lying around so knocked out a simple parcel tray
And made up some mounts for the AC condenser so I can now order some fans, thinking of going with some low profile SPAL units from everything I've read... Anyone have any recommendations of others (needs to be low profile due to space)
Cheers

Re: NoMAD's Kustom FB Sedan
are the fans mounting on the front of the condenser or behind the radiator ?

Re: NoMAD's Kustom FB Sedan
well got the fans ordered today, a couple of SPAL low profile ones, sound do the trick.
in ticking things of the list i started looking at making the fuel inlet pipe... however bending where it needed to bend from where i welded in the wagon inlet didn't give me much grade over the whole length... quick decision and we decided to cut off and weld up the stock position of the tank and move it so we can run a straight pipe with a reasonable grade, a 45deg bend in to the tank and will put a unleaded restrict flap valve (mainly for the non return fact) for added safety. tanks been dry for ages, fume tested it with a lighter
should have it sorted in the next week or 2.
mounted up a moon tacho also, old school style.
pretty much it till next time... probably look at getting my under dash panel housing all the ac vents / controls, radio, extra gauges etc... mocked up and cut out which will be another major item off the list.
Cheers

Re: NoMAD's Kustom FB Sedan
Not sure if this will help Nathan but its a pic of how I did mine, I also used the SPAL fans, recessed the radiator into the support and welded on locators to the bonnet striker, and the bottom locators on the fans fitted perfectly into holes in the stone guard (or what ever its called) that the grill bolts to. Works a treat for my 308 (stock as a rock).
