gday mate , love your build , just wondering about the Volvo rear end , I am just starting on mine , mainly to get disc brakes on the rear , I have found a 245 wagon diff . Do you know if autocables supply a handbrake cable , or is there another way?
no idea on the autocables... most i've seen people make a bracket to adapt the front of FB/EK to the volvo cable, or use a different hand brake all together.
wouldn't hurt to give them a call however

would love to say im working all easter weekend on the car but house work has got in the way...
anyways mocked up the 'tool box' the other day being held down by some old HQ seat belts, it sits on some routed and polished wooden blocks to be able to slide out over the buckles when undone
also mocked up a fuel pipe to take to get bent... need to cut a section out of the floor to get some more grade on it and figure out a non-return valve but progress none the less

so started having a plan getting the engine in a spot im happy with... gone back as far as i can without modifying the firewall... and height to suit a sump i cut up knowing i have to get around the rear rack... however with this position, the double booster isn't going to work if i need to get the rocker covers off... so thinking of going XB master on the wall (since i have one) and a remote under guard booster now... however will re asses this once the engines locked in... also looking at using stock manifolds for exhaust, Commodore doesn't seem to allow me enough room to get around the steering shaft however i'm hoping HQ will otherwise will probably have to make a set...
can get a round the shaft sideways a bit its not a case of going straight down...
so Blacky i may be hitting you up for that firewall cut...

Nothing too fancy to add... looks like i'll be going down the log header route i think... should allow me to get the engine a bit lower and use the double booster setup i already set up however... the rocker cover can roll off without hitting...
created an pieced together some new engine mounts to suit
and made a frame to mount the batter in the boot and modified the previous work i had completed to the false floor to suit. needs a coat of paint however
Next weekend should have the motor bolted in its position, mounted fully welded and gearbox cross member re-bolted up.

Custom radiator ordered... an LJ one to suit the 253.
now with the A/c compressor on the passenger isde, it doesn leave a ton of room for the Alternator... does anyone know if the early commodore (VB / C / H etc...) drivers side (i guess they are mid mount) ones bolt straight up to red heads?
i believe it's this bracket? and if so anyone got a setup... im not exactly keen on $165 even more so on something i dont know if it will work.
also welded up some holes from where the gearbox mount original fitted in the chassis rails... and relocated the A/C bulkhead for a little more rocker cover clearance. Plenty of room on the inside for hoses and junk.

Not sure if anyone has run one of these before but I'm going to give the Ron Francis Bare Bonz Wiring Kit a crack... probably won't install much of it before paint... just mount up the fuse panel and note where i'll be running the wiring however thought you guys might like a look.
i will say very well packet, seems very well constructed also, i read a lot of reviews and never saw a bad word. Its not the cheapest but i figure thats not always the best option with electrical items
hoping to get a bit of work done on the weekend so should have some more updates.
