Love the pictures Tim
I'm hoping to get my ute back as to original as poss & the pictures have just explained a couple of things for me, but just a couple of questions - looks like you may've repainted the Bosch parts - what blue did you use, & although you don't have a remote oil filter do you know the colour of the (think it's Ryco) body.

Thanks - this is similar to the one I have - but in all photo's the body looks red & unfortunately my Bosch parts are painted black so can't eye match.

hi guys,
i hope this thread from 2007 can be ressurected. I saw from the photos that one engine bay has a more modern air cleaner and one has a tear-drop shaped oil bath. I have a 61 EK with a tear-drop shaped oil bath. Are these both original to EK (i.e. was there a change-over period?) and also assume FBs had the tear-drop shaped oil bath as well?

also, it was confimed that the stubby metal pots sat on top of the master cylinders, not i've got 2 much taller metal pots? Does anyone know what the story is with these?

Is there anyone out there with original factory photos which could dispell some of these mysteries?
thanks, much appreciated

There were 2 types of battery leads for the EK. For all FB's and up to Jan 62 EK's this type of lead was fitted, from Jan 62 the spring clamp type seen through right up to Commodore was used. Don't worry it's not acid in the battery box, just oil from the air cleaner

Hey Tim
Can you still get that ribbed washer bottle hose, and can anyone tell me where I could purchase the thingy that screws into the manifold for the vacum line for the wipers as per your picture.
Cheers Andy
