Haha how did I get blamed!

Judging by the rest of your work in this thread, I don't think you will have much trouble coming up with a good quality and neat v8 install.

I might have to stop reading this thread before I get ideas haha

yeah i can't image to much strife fitting it given seeing what people have done.

you know your part woody... encouragement haha

didn't help calling blacky... the engine should be locked into tomorrow after a phone call checked it all out today along with a couple of high hp chev's that were sitting there

for those playing at home its only a 253, will be using my V6 T700 behind it still but after the one i had in my HQ i have a bit of a soft spot for them

cheers

there's nothing wrong with 253s (except the exhaust note can be got wrong  ) it's kinda like V6/V8s in commodores a V6 has more than enough power to get you in trouble or lose yor licence but a V8 just sounds nicer  same here 253 will give you more power than you'll ever need you only really need to go bigger if racing is in the future

your dead right there mick... i had a 600 Holley (re-jetted of course), mild cam and exhaust all done on the 253 i had in my HQ and it sound and went sensationally.

Well the engines locked it will have it in a few weeks, (thanks Blacky) new bolt on parts have been ordered, mates been told the T700 to 253 adapter kit will be stolen from his shed and its full steam ahead.

may consider a dummy block and heads in the mean time to start working on fitment.

also if anyone has an orginal alternator air con bracket to suit a 253 / 308 gathering dust i would be interested in removing this from you.

Cheers

not a lot haha

i believe its this one... cant image they sell that many at that cost however

http://rodshop.com.au/trans_conversions/ap/ap052.htm

1 off Adaptor plate fitted with dowels
1 off Torque Converter Locator – TC Locator 04
1 off Flex plate to torque convertor adaptor ring – TC Spacer 04
28 Piece bolt and washer kit

only becasue imusing the V6 box... im sure we could make a copy and i could knock something up on CAD for the laser cutter if need be

Hey Nathan,

If you can find one the VN V8 T700 is hydraulic and can have the torque convertor locked to simulate an overdrive. It is however a chev bolt pattern. You could always locate a chev pattern holden block but these are pretty rare these days.
