Gday Dave

Pull the knob all the way out (headlights on position)
Then feel around under the dash on the light switch mechinism
to find a small button on the lower face of the switch.
When this button is held in, the knob and switch shaft
will pull completly out.
Then undo the retaining nut to remove the switch.

Get hold of a FB/EK Repair Manual Dave,
They are worth there weight in gold

Cheers
Jeff

It's a spring loaded button on the switch mechanism as Jeff said.

I remember years ago with my first FB trying to find it with my head under the dash and having trouble locating it.

As Jeff said once the button is depressed the knob and actuating shaft will just come straight out.

One of those LED headlamp torches are great for underdash work as they leave both your hands free to have a fiddle.

Fiddle with the switch button I mean't!!

Cheers,

Terry.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Glad you cleared that up FB mad. It would be a fuddle in my sedan!!! lol lol!!!!!
The spring loaded button you speak of is on the top side of the switch as you look at it from the steering wheel, Slide your hand up between the column and locate where the switch is and feel around until you find it. Remember not to pull the shaft out too fast as there is a collet that has to meet the shaft on the way back in, so you don't want this to jump out, then you have to remove the whole switch and locate the collet back into its spot.
