Harko,
your doing this car justice i hope it turns out a real head turner for you as your putting some serious work into it.
I'm glad i didn't have the winning bid on it now as it looks more work than what i would have been prepared to put into it. i was mainly in it for for some salvageable parts.
So it looks like the right person ended up with it in the end.

haha Thanks Ian , If you dont mind mate would you please call my little missus up and have a chat with her :D She needs to know I "AM" doing the right thing here :D
We have talked about extensions to the house of late and Im all " right imagine this wall gone and those stairs gone and add 1.5 mtrs there "   She just cant invision things at all ,she's just worried about "If the stairs arent there , Then where will they be ? "
So a rusty old rough looking car is still a rusty old rough looking car ..

Ratbox Im glad your pissed off :D Your just going to have to chew on the fact that you inspired me into this build because I needed to do it like a hole in the head  Im glad Im inspiring you back :D , thats what this car game is all about , And people think we are wierd looking at rusty bits of metal and liking it 8) but I say we are artists us modifiers.

I ended up pulling the subframe off as much as I didnt want to and its real real bad on these tips , I like to keep reference points when replacing things so I know they are right but these will rule out all holes and if the shape isnt right it may not bolt back into position ,Its not just a simple folded piece but has a twist to it .

I dropped the other subframe off the spares car and its repairable on the driver side but prob not worth the transfer , passenger side is also trashed.
Check out the massive fatigue crack on the left side in this photo !
Image
Is there repair sections out there ? Rares or rustrite or NOS that anyone knows of ? or if anyone has a trashed lower subframe but the tops are repairable or good ?

Heres the spares car as it stands today - I was rained off by that bloody big thunderstorm so with a trip to the local cutoff disks shop I'll be back into it tomorrow .

Heres another update :D Im gittin rule farken happy :D cause Im almost done with the friggin little orange bug , Way more than I thought but still worth it in the end,
Im too tight to go and pay big bucks for a roller anymore so I have to make what I can from what Ive got and with what Ive got ,which at the end of the day is awesomely satisfying - "Im earning my ride" and with that ,my ride is gaining the respect from me it deserves :P

Ive outlined in blue the repaired sections , This was a bastard guy job.
This area required the inner support panel to be repaired aswell ,and geez I wish I had flat black because the shine on this makes it look way worse - It came up great .
Only prob now is the neighbours think the noise and blue flashing light coming from my place is helping build an alien ship

Great to see the rapid progress Harko  8) You're working like a man possessed!

Can you tell me what the name of the paint/chassis undercoat you are using? brushed or sprayed on?

regards

Its just pressure pack black Stewart ,Just covering up the bare metal so it doesnt rust ,The majority of it will be stripped off when it all goes back to the bare metal for paint. :)

Im usualy over pedantic Malcom but this ones a driver that I dont want to care about , I want it to look cool but get the wheels driven off it and not worry leaving it in the car park at the shopping centre.

Its my everydayer rain hail or shine :D

As of today Im going to work for the man again so it will leave me almost no time to play ,but I will be practicing the Harko 20 minute rule
And I want this thing chopped that bad its twisting my gut in knots  and it aint far off now .

Another update tonight ....

Image
So far today this side of the strengthening is tacked in ,but hopefully Ill get the remains of the spares car cut up and the underside of this one in paint.
