HQ rear brakes on EK

Post by Davy »

G'day all, I've just fitted a shortened Borg Warner diff to my EK and HQ drum brakes bolted straight on just had to drill EK stud pattern in drums. I have HR discs and VH 44 booster and EK master cyl. I didn't know what to expect with this combo, but to my surprise it works very well. It probably work even better with a VH40 booster. Hand brake is easy you just have to shorten HQ rear cable. This would work just as well with banjo diff. Cheap easy and reliable conversion. I'm sure some of you have already tried this, but I couldn't see anything in the blogs. Maybe it will help someone.

Cool, thanks for sharing, did you use the Borg Warner axles and have them redrilled ?
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
