November 3rd , event #2
We are holding our first "spanner day" on November 3, we will have the use of a workshop in Maddington with a hoist, welding gear, etc for the day . If anyone wants to bring their cars down to get some work done , let me know. We are going to get stuck into J's EK to help him get it back on the road seeing as cruising season is here , be great to see lots of members show up and get stuck in. These days are great fun and if youre not careful you might learn something too !!!
Please let me know who is coming so we can cater for lunch.

I'll be there
Mainly need some help with fitting rubbers, lining up the doors with the latches and fixing some of the window and door mechanisms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We have had a SNAFU , J has had to go back to work early and wont be able to make it this weekend, so we need another car to play with. Anyone got a car they were thinking of bringing along ?
I think Western Wagon is bringing his ute so we can change the rear shocks out , but we are going to need more than that to play with or its going to be a pretty short day ........

how many club members does it take to change a pair of rear shocks?Blacky wrote:We have had a SNAFU , J has had to go back to work early and wont be able to make it this weekend, so we need another car to play with. Anyone got a car they were thinking of bringing along ?

I've got some interesting rust to cut out and replace (lower rear guards, C pillar looks like whoever tried it just kept welding and welding and welding), along with making a false floor in the boot, new filler pipe (need to get pipe), connect handbrake cable etc.. basic boring stuff that we all hate that i just have to get around to... however dont really have the parts / materials, anything drawn up to aid, might be able to organise the old boy to get it there for 9 if people really want and i would get there when i can... but i would have to get everything together and a trailer etc...
could probably give a defininitve answer tomorrow, let me know if you guys want me to attempt it (no offense if its a no haha just trying to supply an option) and i'll see what i can do... but i would consider this more a last resort option over other peoples due to the boring nature and effort haha
Cheers

Damn, if I was closer and the cook's old boy wasn't in hospital I'd come up for a carby overhaul and a synchro fix, doubling the clutch to change 1st to 2nd gets old pretty quick. I broke it in the CBD last trip up.
