Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
Yeah hewey. I thought I would focus on something else when I couldnt work on the car.
They have hundreds of pics like this. Its just mind blowing.
They had a lot of holdens but slipped up a little with pommy cars eg marinas.
When a couple of guys got interested in looking at the car pics with me. One piped up to his mate and said.
"gee I remember when we had marinas. God they were shit".

Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
This week has been another hell week. I think my body has decided to go on strike after what ive put it through over the last couple of months.
Now its not my back ive got myself a chest infection and the flu. Last night the doctor said "your blood pressure and heart rate is high. Your temp is 38.9. You go home and stay in bed till you are right".
My poor next door neighbour came over yesterday to see how I was going with it to find me laying down in the back resting.
Ive still managed to work on the car. I dont know why its so important to me that I have to get it done but by hook or by crook its going to that goddam show on sunday even if I have to get carried in the back of it.
Today I made all the plywood shelving for the back as per the plans I got from my visit to the old scc.
Tomorrow the scc are going to give me all the stuff to fit out the back of the van.
There is still lots of little jobs but its basically done.

Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
Thanks Stewart. Ill be there. I picked up all the meter testing gear today. Man they just filled the back of my van up with stuff. I have no idea what any of it does but some of it looks like it came out of something from jules vern.
Im feeling a bit better now. What didnt help me this week was the doctor I went to at the local medical centre prescribed me an antibiotic that burn my insided right out and made me so much worse that by yesterday arvo I was doubled over in pain I couldnt move. I went to my usual doctor and he reckons the medication would have really done some damage if I had kept on taking it.
The stupid first doctor told me to take more the twice the dosage recomended.
Morale of the story is dont listen to somebody who got their ticket in Bombay.
Im hoping the van runs OK.

What a piece of luck that the SCC had kept that stuff for all these years instead of sending it to landfill.
So many places would have shot it all out, including the photos, during an office reorganisation or middle management existence justification activity.
And to have some old boys there to fill in the gaps.
Top luck, top work.

Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
As mentioned in the previous post my van was well received. So much so that it won, second place in the best van category.
There were ove twenty vans at the show so a bit of competition.
The van needs more detailing and a proper tune but im pretty happy with its maiden outing.
