FC fuel tanks are NOT the same as EK

Well, my new tank is in and not leaking, BUT when I came to put the rubber on around the filler neck the bloody filler neck was too short The cap doesn't fit, not a hope in hell. This tank also has a drain plug in the middle, not on the corner like an EK one (So I've discovered). So I had to cut the filler neck and use the same fuel resistant rubber I used on the "drop" tank. So I'm pretty sure someone put an FE or FC tank into the FB that I got this tank out of. Any other reason for a shorter filler neck??

but if it was in an FB it should fit the EK even if it was an FC one

Yep, that's what I thought mick.
I'm guessing the bloke may have fibbed about what it came out of or didn't know an EK from an FC.
