will also have a set of standard wheels with white walls just to shake it up a little :ewink:
I know it's a matter of personal taste, but :esurprised:

If you want to see what rims and tyres to put on the car, then look no further than Thommo's FB (not the photoshopped version).

Having said that, it's your car, so have at it

after talking to my engineer ive decided to go back to my plan to put a v8 in the FB
i just need to work out sbc chev or holden :undecided:
i was going to go a injected 5lt before but will be going carby now
there wasnt much difference between the 202 and v8 in what is required now so i might aswell put a v8 in it
as per earlier plan :D
i just wanted to let every one know that its still on the go and wont be long before some fresh update photo's
Why is the reason for carby over injected? My plan is for the injected 5lt, I am curious if you know of proc and cons

No matter which way you go Jay, I'm sure it will be pretty darn good  But I'm with Scoob for a Holden as well and carby for the classic factory look.

thing is i dont want to be going a thousand mile an hour i just want a nice cruizer
with some sound coming out the back and a 253 with a mild cam and twin exhaust system will do the job
something like this

That will look sweet, and 253's are relatively cheap as well

I really cant see the point of building a 253 , its physically identical and all the bits are the same price as 308 gear.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

:smile2: have talked to quite a few old school mechanics and seems to be a recuring theme
that the 253 were abit more reliable then the 308 something to do with the lengthening of the stroke in the 308
some refenced the two like a 186 and a 202 slight power increase but less reliability
im new to the whole v8 thing but i get what they meen when they put it like that

i guess its something a bit different without being too out there
like you said Blacky people tend to go for the 308 because of the power increase
but im not after a power house i just like the sound of a v8 and if i need it enough power is there to make you smile :D

don't know about the reliability bit :eh: but for what you want a 253 will be perfect it'll sound like a V8 (make sure you get the right exhaust  ) look like a V8 and will push an FB/EK along easily enough to lose yor license   though I wouldn't walk past a 308 to buy a 253 if the opportunity presented itself
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

When i was running holden v8s in my raceboat i always got a better run out of the 253s.
I kept blowing 308s to pieces.
My theory was the extra piston weight. From what i remember 308 and 253 have the same stroke. 253 are smaller in the bore. The 308 crank is different in the counterweights.
I got a little over 300hp and spun it up to 7200rpm at 105mph.
The only downsid was the 253 didnt have anywhere near the torque of a 308 so the boat was a pig out of the corners.
Im running a chev now. Still blow the arse out of them also.
