Mick wrote: would be better off speaking to ED not sure his username (possably ED   ) as he did the work mark just paid for it, another one would be harko he chopped his ute other than that i can't think of any other chopped build threads on here, there's been quite a few chopped cars but most were allready done by the time they'de made it here
I'm pretty sure Mark has the template, but then again Ed may have held onto it as he was planning another chop too. Best to try both

You're right though Mick, should probably talk to Ed for chop details, but three people with the same chop will definitely help with the setup cost of the front screen.

ED says all he has at the moment is a standard size fibreglass windscreen template ready to be frimmed to suit marks wagon but not yet done, he said he should make the furnace mould and the more people that can be involved in that that can use a screen the better for everone to lower the cost

Thanks Thommo, That is a great article.a few good tips in there. Seems one drawback of cutting an original screen down is that it ends up narrower in the bottom corners...so maybe better to get one made if possible.

my rrof is 4 inches
we too had this issue
the way i got around it was to move the folded lips inwards
at the bottom of the screen section
it took a fair bit of work to do but made things much easier when it came to fitting the chopped down screen

Mick, I just checked out MiniFB's build (which i presume is Mark) and he has taken 3 inches out of the pillars. I was going to go 2.5 inches but would consider going 3 if it meant saving a whole heap of stuffing around with glass. At the end of the day it would probably be easier to make the roof fit the screen than the other way around. I would also get a spare made for Justin.

Hey Paul...I'm a big fan of your Ute mate. I love the smooth clean lines. If my ute comes up half as good as yours I will be wrapped. Does it look odd where the screen is narrower or dont you even notice it.
