Installed a Pertronix Ignitor in the old girl today. It was a good excuse to buy myself a Dremel multiwhizzer  Had a few issues getting the dizzy to mesh back in the right tooth but got it in the end. Also fitted the Flamethrower coil i had laying around (painted yellow) and some sexy yellow plug leads. I increased the gap on the plugs to 0.85mm and timed her up. No pinging, even on yucky regular fuel :D

It seems to go a little better, not sure if the timing was optimised pre fitting, but at least its going again, i quite often break things trying to make improvements - the old 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' thing.

2 of the leads were too short so i've just sent an email, hopefully the bloke sends me the correct ones.

I've got a carby synchroniser http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/carby-balanc ... 3378e8c82a on the way from eBay land, so that will be my next tinkering session, try to stop the occasional popping backfire at idle.

eBay mate, $31.50 delivered, pretty cheap i reckon.

when you purchase just make sure you add in the note to seller section which colour you want, he makes them in red, blue, white, yellow, pink & grey.

Yeah mate, all around the wheatbelt / goldfields areas.

your EK looks very tidy, I'll keep an eye out for you.

I'm in the process of buying a house over in Busso at the moment so will be able to get the ute out cruising more often i reckon, and have a decent shed. i've been keeping the ute in my mum's shed, which makes it that little bit harder to just take it for a spin.

So we've moved into the new shed, oh, and house :esurprised: about 6 weeks ago, definitely enjoying having a shed, been missing out all these years

The ute looks at home

So I figured i should get my other ute from its hiding spot for the last couple of years to keep the old girl company

The boat got evicted to the patio

Luckily I found the missing window trim piece in the back, had blown off during the trailer ride, it originally blew off on the Nullabor but i got a replacement, glad i don't have to find another one.

Today Mum brought around a DVD she made of the ute during its restoration, she didn't know she had it and stumbled across it the other day, i managed to grab a few photos off it, average quality as they're screenshots from the dvd but a bit of a stroll down memory lane, hope you enjoy them.

Awesome stuff! Your old man did a great job bringing it back from the brink (or slightly over the brink by the looks of it).

Hopefully one day you'll hand it down to another family member who'll treasure it as much as you do

Hey Tony,
Love your ute, very tidy and wheels set it off. Your Dad had his work cut out for him but the end result looks just spot on. No doubt it will be a keeper?

Stephen

That's very expensive NASCO tailgate rust. I thought all utes were fitted with it from the factory

I shouldn't laugh... the lower tailgate on my wagon had more cancer than I thought.

Cheers,
