here are some pics taken today after a weekend of stripping old "Bessie" down. Both front guards are now off as are the doors boot and bonnet.more work tomorrow.
i'm suprised from what you can see in the pics it's not a bad looking body, when you first were talking about it and said it had been sitting out the back for years i wasn't expecting it to be pretty
if or when you get stuck putting it back togeather you'll get plenty of help here i myself have done so many i reckon i could put one togeather with my eyes closed
thanks ratbox, i think i might be taking you up on the offer. taking the front guards off showed up some pretty bad rust on the top of the passenger side where the water drain off pipe goes, this will of course need some plating along with various other areas but all in all, like ratbox said, the body is in pretty good nick after stting out in all weather for so long.still cannot decide on what running gear to put in it but in no great rush on that at the moment. next stage is welding and chassis work and primer putty for the bodywork.once all the welding is done the floors ,boot area etc will be hit with a few coats of rustproofing paint.then its off with the roof.hope to have more pics soon.
