Sunnymick factory black FB special and other FB-EK's
Hi guys been a while but finally worked out how to load via iPhone. My black FB 1961. Bought it 2 years ago it has been sitting since about 1980. Did not run or drive and needs resto but does not look to bad. basically I decided the first thing to do was to get it to run so pulled the plugs squirted oil down the pots fill up the radiator and put a battery in it and boom it ran. Water pump screaming exhaust half missing it was running. Pulled all the brakes wheel cylinders out and master cylinders and all clutch hydraulics out and replaced it all. Upon that task I managed to drive it away from my house I sold and drove it 600 metres to a mates for storage stored in at my mates for 6 weeks and towed to my new place now.

Re: Sunnymick factory black FB special and other FB-EK's
So I managed to get it to run and drive but did not have it running off the tank. So drained the tank ran fresh petrol down it still would not run. Undid the pick up poked wire through and she now runs off the tank. I had this idea that I would restore the mechanicals leave the surface rust and drive it. The body requires work the paint is had it lots of surface rust but after 2 hand polishes it still retains a shine. Both rear doors require replacing left hand sill needs replacing you could repair but I would prefer to replace it. Floors good right sill good and a few other rust issues to mention. Stay tuned

Thanks guys will talk to about it as I head down the path with it. My original plan was to keep the body fairly unrestored but upon further inspection I have to pull her down. Thought I would also share some of the other cars in my life. Between myself and my cousin we have enough to keep us busy. Next car to introduce is a 1960 FB Holden sedan. We picked it up from Wagga a few months ago original nitro carthe eBay photos we commited to buy it not really knowing how it would turn out. first photos back home last on rego 1993 the previous owner saved it from a scrap metal guy. Fuel down the carny and with the water pump seized it ran like a clock

so now 2 FB's here to deal with. The green car needed all the hydraulics and brakes doing so that was our next thing . Upon that we got it to drive but yet to run off the tank. Also needs floor pan repairs and lower back guard repairs. Someone at some point changed the fuel tank over to a FC fuel tank so the filler neck is too short. Have acquired another mint tank. This car has mint chrome, cast and stainless. Plans are to only run a few touch ups and that will be fine

Next car we have I do not have many photos of. 1962 marine blue EK sedan. We picked this up about 18 months ago just out of Gladstone a mate stumbled across while workin out that way. Front sheet metal very rusty but worth fixing. Managed to get to running it has a 186 auto plans are to leave the 186 in it and restore it head to toe. It has the white hooding seats with blue inserts but needs a lot of work. Thought about putting the flash kit onto another car but it deserves life

Next car to introduce is our 1962 EK hydro wagon. Ex toowoomba car this car has log books original purchase receipt and most of its rego slips to 1989 which seems when it was last on rego. Got it to run and drive needs brakes etc doing and some minor rust repairs and paint touch up. Plan is to hand it over to my missus to drive when she wants to. We want to run a pack rack on it and put a few accessories on it

Next car is a 1961 FB special Grecian white with a iris flash. Last on rego 1986 ex Toowomba car. Still has its original plates on it. A old lady owned it covered it in newspapers to protect it but her shed roof gave up hence the surface rust. The owner we bought it off had purchased off a scrap metal guy. I am guessing he had plans to do something with but if anything it got a lot worse than what is was. The first thing he did was rip the mats out of it. Managed to get it to run off the fuel tank and drive. Plans are to restore down the track.
