Found water in the fuel so we decided to put a few drops straight into the carby. She almost turned over but still couldn't get there. So we had a little looksy in the carby and found so much crap and sand I could have started a beach party in the garage.
The carby looks pretty tired and needs rebuilding. It's a two-barrel Varajet from a VH commodore. Can anyone recommend a reliable place in the se burbs of melbs that can look at it for me? Will probably also need a new dizzy cap set up.

Re: Bonnie
So I have taken the carby and fuel pump off, sad news is that there was water sitting in the fuel and has corroded everything, the carby is knackered and I find out on the weekend the fate of the fuel pump.
I took a bit of the paint off around the rear window area to see the dodgy fix job with fibre glass, it's worse than I thought.

Think I might have to think about bringing in some expert help so I don't dodgy it up myself

I know Muza, they have done a few quick fix and some hack jobs but for the price I paid for this car you gotta expect stuff like this. I was thinking of trying to clean the holes up a bit, maybe even welding some plate in there and doing the holes properly.muza wrote:jarvo wrote:

Re: Bonnie
Thanks Jarvo, I wanted to see the plate (even though you have typed them in the ID thread) as I hadn't seen an original Mandong Red plate ... very rare.
Thank you,
Steve
