Still confused

How does the fuel/air get to the manifold on the other side?

yeh theres a bit more pipe work to go

the blower will suck the fuel through it and spit it out the other side blowing it through the pipe work
and into the manifold

You want to keep that pipe as short as you possibly can Dave.

i used a meth aditive instead of castor oil as i have been told that castor oil will gum up the fuel and carbie

when in shed i wrote what was on the bottle
vp racing is the brand m2 scented
its scented candy smell so you know that you have got it in the fuel
upper lube and permormance additive for methanel fuel
made for superchargers
i bought it from bob fisher automotive

its been a whie but heres a quick update

after all the headaches of tring to keep it under the hood with it mounted low on the other side of the engine
its not still not going to work
so ive had a play and after talking with a few people come up with a copy of an orig type manifold set up and will run a 2inch su
most of the work is done just a quick clean up and can start putting it all together

mine great up and running
first i used the alt for the belt tentioner but the belt was coming loose
So i got a idler pulley made and took the alt to a belt drive of ham balancer and no problems
the motor is got to be dynoed the temp when driving on say 20 to 25 degrees day is 180 to 190
i think that the car is running to lean
i have a big thermo on it
i am doing another lc xu1 lima mnt in colour 70 model
i tell you the carbs are very noisey sucking sound when cruiusing down the road

How's the Norman going Dave? Any tips?

I'll be doing a very similar install myself soon and would appreciate any advice.

Luckily the supercharger already comes with the carb mounted just how you've set it up in the last picture, so it will fit under the bonnet OK (carb is original to the supercharger kit). The casing on mine is a little different though, the cooling fins are radial and there isn't any water cooling. Lube is from a Marvel Mystery Oiler which is also part of the original kit.

I'll have to replace the bearings and seals and overhaul the carb. The kit has never been used, but has been sitting since before I was born so it will need a little love first.

I just have to work out what the heck to do to the rest of the engine. The greys are low comp anyway, and the blower only makes about 5psi with the 1:1 pulley so that will work, but the head could maybe benefit from bigger exhaust valves, and a cam of course. Some strong rods and a stud girdle to strengthen the main bearing caps would help.

I'll probably add water / methanol injection to the plenum.

Oh, forgot, lots of polished alloy and carnation red paint - that's the most important bit

ive been a bit slack had a lot of stuff going on latley but thats a diferent story

mines almost done ive changed the top manifold again to run twin su's it's getting welded now
so it wont be 2 far away ,just have to work out linkages /cable to the su's and pretty much there

the engine in the EK is gettin on in age now so im going to set it all up on this engine and sort out all the bits n bits
why i get the new motor sorted , im not going crazy with it just balanced ,cam and a bit of head work
after all its just a cruiser not a race car
then lots of polishing as well
