Re: EK Daily Driver Melbourne
Hi all you guys on the fb-ek site---I was just buzing around on the P C cos i sort of am tentatively looking around for a classic with an auto transmission for the missus who is currently running our V S commodore, that is getting a bit tired and dare i say it a bit boreing. Yes even Holdens suffer this afliction at times
I ll turn the story back a few months,to such a time when I seriouly started looking, and i walked down the lane to where i knew an ek was regularly parked Good i thought, shes an auto Now being as i m retired i can more or less moniter it each day and patiently wait for a for sale sign to be put in the window Months go by and i pass and admire this beauty .but alas no sign--- One day i ask a neighbour, who tells me she also runs another classic holden and he points down the road Well the only other car to this description is a Kingswood of about hq vintage ,white ,auto beaut condition And i note that when ek is at home,hq has gone and vice versa
Fast forward to last night and the fb-ek club heading daily driver caught my eye Caught the rego number and the car seemed so familiar .My curiosity couldnt wait So down the lane i went ,and to my exitement ,there she was the car in question After reading all your comments i realise that my dreams are simply that--dreams as the lady probably wouldnt sell the car and with such demand the price would be beyond the means of a retiree, I dont want to create a stampede of paparazzi proportions and give the exact location .All i will say is its in Moonee Ponds Yes this lady is very lucky to have such a great car but one might assume she had the good taste to own it in the first place ,So good luck to her. It must have been amongst the first few hundred to have the auto trans .Yes it is a daily driver and is under cover every night .Perhaps i might have the good fortune to meet the lady one day. She must have a very interesting tale to tell .I occasionally run my ,off white ej wagon( reg no ej 138,) but this ek pts her in the shade---Hope this is of interest to you guys
