Welcome aboard - where have you been? apart from flitting all your coupons on a soujourn around Oz....?
I can't for one moment believe that this build is for the missus - to take to the shopping centre - but being a Ute, it will most likely be able to carry a slab or two ..... oops, nah - can't do that - those great road rollers will use up a lot of your tub.... guess it's a case of having to run the mission solo.....
Amazing on what you have shown us, I expect you have your engineer well and truly current with all work - the factory shows signs of other vehicles in state of re-juvenate.....
Love your work on the chassis - just one question - the opening for the radiator, I expect will be "stretched" just a little..... it's the only part which sticks out in my mind at present....
And, by the way - you have at least three others in the Croydon area...... although you might only see one from time to time on the road... if you're lucky....
Again, welcome aboard - will be watching this build with my hand on my heart.......
Geez fingers, you'r keeping a closer eye on my ute than me. I haven't been there for a couple of weeks so those latest pics you posted are a real treat for me. Rosco, that sojourn, as you say, was 25 years ago.....thinking about it I can't believe it was that long ago...anyway its taken me that long to save up enough more coupons to even think about finishing off my ute the way I want it. Originally I planned to do all the work myself, cause being a vehicle bodybuilder by trade I have the skills, but having a business that owns me, and a family to look after I really don't have the time. The front end and all the chassis work you see in the photos is by the hand of Heath and Luke at Southern Chassis Works in Warragul. As you can see they are doing an awsome job in creating my modern day tribute to Johnny Z's EK ute. Yes, you Betcha, after heath has finished it going to get the pillars shortened by about 2.5 inches. Rosco, you have got a keen eye, the radiator opening will be modified after I have the radiator built, just to make sure we have a neat fit. Haven,t seen many around the streets of late. There used to be a nice light blue ute with dark blue signwriting on the door (the name escapes me at the moment) and a guy named Mark had another light blue ute, chopped I think with a smoothed off tailgate. both of which I haven't seen around for a few years.
