Then i could say it had a grey motor...lol

Finally got the remaining undercarriage rust repairs complete. ( now that the missus shed in complete) :thumbsup:

The wagon is off the rotisserie for the time being. :D

Front clip complete just some welding once its back on the car and smooth of the inner guard cuts.

Stared on the brake pedal, all fitted up just some slight bending required to clear the column, a tidy up and then a Lokar pedal. 8) 8)

Bloody Hey fever has slowed things up over the last few days, 4 weeks of next break with plenty of wagon time planned (after I pick up the pumped up grey motor for the ute, from Bob at Serpie)

Did look at a chop Stewart, but its not going to happen. the tape is there to hold the doore shut on the rotisserie

Will remove the doors or use cable ties next time as the tape broke denting on of the doors :(

Front clip back on, a bit of tidy up on the inner guard cuts and some welding on the sub frame.

Sorted the pedal ox bent pedal, collapsible column, have a universal push rod for the booster is about 20 mm to long, bit more chopping in the morning and then on with the X member. Steering at last

Anyone have any simple suggestions to tidy up the column penetration

Trial fit up of the small block and Trans today, fits well, trans has heaps of room, need to modify the CRS trans support :shock:

Billet sump has to go (fouls the X member), looks like a electric fuel pump also as the mech one fouls on the lip, booster has heaps of room, steering is tight.

Now that the clip is on the inner guard cuts are not quite right, not sure if the alloy heads are are different angle to the cast ones ?? They are now closer to the engine block. The ADS tail shaft I have is 1/2 an inch to long (bugga) and will need shortening.
Diff has 31 spline Billet axles 3.08 for general use & 4.1's when it needs to go fast.
Coan trans is good for 600 HP with a 2800 stall.

when we've done holden V8's you massage the left side firewall the guy that does my fab work makes some cuts to push it back then puts the lip back so as it looks as if factory :thumbsup:

I had the issue on the passenger side firewall, prob cause mine is a Holden V8 and used the Pat Gardiner front end
To overcome it we cut a piece out and plated it.

Yep, SBC mech fuel pump foesn't like that front subframe lip at all. You could (almost) massage the lip and get the mech pump to fit, but you would need to pull the motor to change the fuel pump :( . I ended up going a Holley Red, mounted under the driver's side back seat floor (it tucked up out of the way nicely in amongst the crossmembers). Noisy as buggery though...hoping some carpet/dynamat/underlay quietens it down a bit (either that or the exhaust drowns it out :lol: ). Carter fuel pumps are apparently quieter than the Holleys (couldn't be any bloody louder). Think seriously about a fuel pump cutout switch (no ignition pulse or no oil pressure = no fuel pump power) - Peel Instruments make a nice unit that hides well up under the dash and is simple to wire in (if I can understand it, anyone can :oops: ).

Between you and Fingers, I'm starting to get the itch to get the wagon dragged back down to Sydney and finished :mrgreen: .

Ya right about the Holley blue when I bought the warm grey of B ob it had a blue Holley and reg supplying the twins, you could hear it over the motor :lol:

The mechanic installing the NOS on my LJ recommended a Carter rotary vien, I have ordered a new stainless fuel tank with a 3/8 outlet for the wagon so should work out fine.

I spoke to Jonathan at Peel elects and we have an outlet over here for the safety switch part no CP-30 sounds like a good idea.

Well better go modify another piece of my CRS kit :roll: so I can get this wagon ready or paint.

Yep my mechanical fuel pump wont fit either..... gotta go for aa electric pump too ....Do youse guys think the standard FB fuel line would keep up to the supply to 400 or 500 neddies.......Hey Gazz ...got any more photos on progress .....your experiences are helping me over here as well ..... check ya PMs mate ......

Fingers,

I reckon the standard FB/EK fuel lines are probably going to starve a V8 - undersized, often full of crap and bends/kinks/splits.... You can always check with a fuel pressure gauge with the vehicle under noise, but I'd reccomend some new 3/8" line.
