Hey guys,
The other day my ute was running great, i was driving it up and down the street no problem. Then i parked it in the driveway to finish the Dynamatt on the firewall. When i tried to start it again.... nothing, the starter wasnt making any noise at all (Not even clicking), so i thought allright maybe i knocked off a pin from the ignition switch when i was dynamatting, so i had a look... everything looked fine. so i checked if that battery had charge. (it did and it was getting to the solenoid fine, i then thought ill just unhook all the wires to the starter and tried to jump it with a pack (bypassing the whole system in the car).. nothing, i did the age old tapping of the solenoid and the starter... nothing. So i thought ill leave it for tommorow (today) and went to move the ignition switch into its spot and it got very crap very fast, i thought it was on fire... one of the wires had shorted and burnt the buggerey out of its insulation and the cables around it (which were taped together).
What should i do, do i need to replace the whole harness or what??? or just try and replace the burnt wires (although i dont know which ones have just the tiniest burn on them that might short in the future.
