blue 202 wont start when hot

Post by slimboy66 »

my search in the engine section is fruitless at this stage. does anyone have any idea why i would be having trouble starting the car after the engine is warm. cold starts no worries . i'm sitting for 20 mins after getting fuel waiting for it to cool down then it will start. cheers

more info please - what setup do you have ? Will it wind over and not fire or doesn't it wind over ?
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Does the starter turn the motor over at a reasonable speed when hot .........Fingers

It could be your extractors heating your starter motor.
Test by sheilding the starter with insulation of some type,
run the car as normal, see if hot starting improves.
This is not the fix, just an experiment to find the problem.

or

It could be vapor lock, your fuel line from the pump to the carbs is getting to hot.
Replace it, or shield it with rubber fuel line, or/and, move it away from the head.

Dont do both of these at the same time, you wont know which one worked (if at all).
Try one, then the other.

Cheers
