some mates and I used to rent this house in Dendy st brighton for $15 a week, this is about 1977
we would buy old holdens from the StKilda impound auctions for between $50 and $150 and wreck or repair em in the backyard, this FE was one of our first sales
Image

some of them we did some radical modifications before we sold them e.g bonnet scoop and custom grill
amazing what you can achieve with an oxy

Image

then when we got bored we used to play smash up derby, this is how i learnt to drive at the age of 16

Good times

Flinders Street Station in Melbourne 1960. How's the Taxi paint schemes. The standard FB taxi done up like a special is interesting!

Barkly Street, Footscray in Melb. How's the Green standard wagon?

A yellow Cab FC & Red and Yellow Cab FB in Elizabeth St. Melbourne in 1960. Of interest is the "Hottie" FX or FJ beside them with the racing stripes. I can see the oldies - "tut tut, bodgies!"

Cheers

Dale Steele's Monaro from Adelaide International Raceway back in the mid 70's
His nephew Dean was a good mate of mine in high school.
But thats not the story here, Check the custom painted wagon in the background!!!
