Star trEKn' across the universe

Post by simmo65 »

Hi everyone ..

Just sorting a few pics and realised we've done a few miles in the wagon in the past year or so and I thought I'd share it with you guys.

So, here is a pictorial history of a year in the life of an Ek Wagon.. Lots of gratuitous pics of our wagon but I hope you all enjoy.

We started the year off with a spur of the moment quick lap of Tassie. First time there. Its a beautiful state.

Next came the Lets go Cruisin back to the drive in night.

Getting ready.

Someone took a nice pic of my wagon ...thanks! :)

Easter

Trip to Bendigo to visit friends.

Cold start ...mental note:- must fix heater in wagon!
Image

Awesome pontiac on display in the Bendigo Mall
Image

...then a quick trip down to the HotRod Nats

Couple of a favourite cars at the nats

Image

Trying on some new wheels.
Even though they were supposed to fit a disk brake front end. Bloody things don't fit, they hit the calipers!
Oh well, keep looking...

May

Wedderburn swap meet with a quick trip across to the Echuca holden car museum in the same day.

Very neat Fc wagon

Did not stay long as it started to rain like crazy shortly after this photo
Image

Then a quick trip across to Violet town on the way home
Image

October

We sure got some strange looks driving to a halloween party dressed like this :)
Image

We then left for Broken Hill the next day.

Half way to Mildura
Image

Half way from Mildura to Broken hill... Man! its a long way! of, of, nothin'
Image

Ahh the fun of clocking over your speedo' 2011 in 2011!
Image

Found this awesome cafe "Bells Cafe" in Broken hill for a well deserved old skool spider!
It's an original cafe which has not changed since 1956! Don't worry, the food is fresh :)
Image

Outside the cafe... its well worth the visit!
Image

Drive to Silverton for the day

Out by the old Silverton railway station. Used to be an old car there I wanted to check out
Its gone now :(
Image

Silverton pub.
Image

Out past the Mundi Mundi Plain. Whats more Australian than an old Holden under a Gumtree?!

Couple of old wagons in Silverton saying g'day. The Prem is an original 4 speed 186... loved it! :)

Great to see you out and about
Love the wagon with those wheels, might have to try 14 inch HG rims to get over the calipers.

Thanks for the comments guys. :)

Gazza, I thought it may give those of whom that are in the middle of their builds something to look foward to when they're done, and a little boost to keep going :)

The wagon has been very (touch wood) reliable. No Problems at all. The carbs were playing up a little so I rebuilt them just prior to the Broken Hill trip thanks to Harv's awesome guide (Thanks Harv :) )

Thanks for the heads up about the wheels Trev. I'll keep the hg rims in mind .. I want to try and keep 13's if I can, but wide 13" tyres are getting hard to find.
Cheers

Love yer work.

Roadtripping in an early Holden is great.

If you havent done it,you are missing a great adventure and the chance to exchange storys about Old Holdens

and misspent youth with different people every single place that you stop.

Love that HK wagon too.....fully loaded 186 Prem....

Image

A rare bird indeed.

Thanks for the pics.
