Re: *** Holden EK Ute Cameo Beige
Looks like a great starting point for a full resto.
Why do half a job on it?
Give your beater a proper challenge to see how good he is.
Its not as if its the first car,or the last car,or a car driven by Elvis.
Does this car have a papertrail history? That might be the only reason I would change my view,if,for instance, the gaurds were bent by Mick Jagger
driving it into a stump avoiding a Yowie whilst here filming Ned Kelly.
Or if Ivan Milat used it for hauling backpacker corpses through the forest.
Otherwise you'll have just another run of the mill half fixed shitbox still deteriorating below the surface.
but ,of course,it is your car,so do as you please.

I'd agree that there is no point trying to "touch it up". I cant see a single bit of paint that is salvagable. And even if you could the new paint is certianly going to be obvious
I'd give it all a new coat to wear.

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer

Of course I like it.
Theres nothing better than finding an honest and unmolested car, even if it is really tired.
At least you know what youve got to start with, whether you are restoring ,ratting or going proper-nutso-custom with it.

I really like this car too and can't wait to see what you have instore for her (I'm calling it a girl as it's pink)
If anyone on the face of this earth can make the original paint 'pop' again it's you and your family.
I do have a question though, what's with the roof??? the back half of it looks white?
Next time I'm at the graveyard I'll have to keep an eye open for a Cameo beige ute
It's funny how pink cars if there old can be cool. Can anyone here imagine driving the new pink Yaris??
I remember being in a group of guys ages ago who I considered pretty rough etc and one of them mentioned how his uncle had an old chev. Another asked him what colour it was and he replied pink and white. I was sitting there thinking "oh crap, here it comes" expecting he'd get a spray but instead everyone sat there nodding there heads like they were thinking oooooooohhhhhhhhh yeeeeaaaaahh
