vk 5 speed onto 161 for the rat

hey fellas ,i looked through the driveline section for some vk 5 speed advice but did not find much. i know celica is the bomb but i have no money and am looking for the cheepskate way out of this. otherwise the car will end up auto. has anyone out there done it? even if you jot down what you think you know about it might help me out before going to pick n payless . all i gathered was the clutch is cable and may need some mods there. any help would be appreciated.cheers

Have a look at the box and bell housing to see if there is a provision for a slave cylinder, or find out what other cars the box was fitted to and see if they came with hydraulic clutches. I think it would be easier to convert the box to hydraulic than the car to cable.
Shifter position might be a problem if you are running a bench seat.
