Umm, without being pedantic, I thought I remembered seeing the original advert for this in another thread and it said it had been resprayed some 25 years ago ? sorry if I've offended anyone but I'm sure I read that as it was advertised with the black one which had also been resprayed.
Thanks all - yes from what the previous owner told me is that the original owner was from QLD and resprayed approx 25 years ago, however the interior is original im told, from the little knowledge I have about these cars I checked the trim code on the engine bay and it seems to match. the boot was full of nasco accessories - scratch plates, head light grills, venetian blind, and some rego plate frames?? etc, when I bought the car which was a bonus! I think I am the 3rd owner. So you will probably see me driving around old Adelaide...when the weather picks up a bit...that is. I hope to join the club and get on a cruise real soon.
Well I have tracked back to the original car owner's daughter and the second owner for some history on this care. In the glovebox some car club info from interstate back in 1994, and that is how I started tracking the previous owners down. i emailed the car club and was able to track down one of the owner's sons. I was told by the second owner that no respray has occurred and they owned the care for over 10 years - they said the car was in original condition whilst they had it. The original owner's daughter sold the car when her father died apparatnly the father did not respray the car. The guy I brought the car off did nothing to it either except keep it in the garage - he prefers his harley's....I have now found out I am the 4th owner - I am trying to get hold of some photos of the car from the previous owners which will be great to have.
Enjoy driving the wheels off your "Time capsule", great score and a beautiful car. All my life I've modified cars and motorcycles and now I'm starting to really appreciate an original car without mentally wanting to change things (You know, nice car but if it were mine I would etc. etc.)
Don't worry too much though I'll never sell my chopped ute
