I have everyone giggling and taking the piss when they see what I got.
When I bought it though they were all "this car is mad" "awesome" and all the bullshit that goes with pissing in your pocket.
When they saw the rust "What a joke" " Burn it"
Now its like "Can I give you hand" "WOW"
So stick with it get a good welder and read up as much as you can, and more importantly ask for help.
This forum has given me a lot of direction and assistance members are the best sorces of knowledge.
Re: MI60FB
great to see Baker12 - a lesser man would have thrown his hands in the air and put the whole lot in the too hard basket
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Back from a break and straight into it.
Cut out passenger rear floor pan today.
Cut pan on floor
Cleaned up subframe
POR 15 Everything
Tacked in front floor pan, bumped only spotlight left in shed so no more work till missus BAKER12 gets back from up the street.
Should have rear pan welded in tonight, finish off front pan then start on drivers side sills and pans.
My MIG and My Grinder are my best Friends!!

Re: MI60FB
Hi everyone.
Well after my post regarding LHD drive cars I decided to spend some time doing something usefull, finishing my car.
I stuffed around for 2 days getting the settings right on my MIG which caused me plenty of grief.
Got them set and all was good.
Welded in the rear floor pan and tidied up the front that I had previously tacked in.
POR15 the lot and shes ready to rock.
Next job was to replace the rear parcel shelf.
I picked the spot welds of the original (what a sh!t job) and decided to cut the donor section out and pick the spot welds off on my bench.
Due to the rear window channel being completely f@#$$d I cut out the whole channel section.
Day off tommorrow hope to weld in parcel shelf and rear window channel.
Then turn car around and attack the drivers side pans and sills. F#$K Yeah!!!!

Re: MI60FB
Like what Blacky said. My hat's off to you Baker12. After seeing your efforts and RustyEK's work with the concrete floored ute, nothing is unrestorable...
Re: MI60FB
I picked the spotwelds out of my donor parcel shelf this arvo.
What a prick of a job.
The guys at GM back in 1960 just through the spot welder in where they could no regard for standards or welding patterns just/This will do whens smoko?
Anyway got the stuff done that I wanted and POR 15 the shelf.
Marked out my cuts and ready to weld tommorrow night, the MI60FB will be getting a new parcel shelf and window channel.
Thank F#$k that the only thing I need to do is weld it in!!!!!!
Then on to drivers side sills and floorpans.
Deadline may 2011!!!
