Cool Thommo , your running no bumper Id imagine ?
Im actually extending this area  , It will be good to see every mod possible here one day then we can create by just picking the combo of mods together :)
But then that sounds all to similar to a fibreglass rod :)

Good to see some progress

I tried to get Modified V8 in (separate to the Mod 6cyl) at bendigo but it got poo pooed, so i don't know how you'd go getting a Kustom class approved  :D .

Here's some pics of the shortened gaurd.
We still have some finishing to do,
but it shows the result.

I also picked up my seats during the week.
Some 20 or so pages back in this thread, I joked about probably needing ski boat seats to get
the seating position low enough to see out the windscreen, Well, since then I have bought a early 70's ski boat which
has the perfect seats for the van, so I pulled one out and used it for a mould to have two more made the same.
The new seats were moulded around the outside of the original seat making the new ones slightly larger.

Image

The seat rails on the floor are early land rover, which are very low, and very sturdy.
The seats will be trimmed similiar to the boat seats but with the old diamond
pattern in the center insert instead of the straight lines.
Also the sides of the seat will be trimmed down lower to allow easier entry/exit from the van.

Getting there

Like the job on the front guards, Thommo. 8)
Adding the ski boat seats should save you from cracking your head (and knees) when getting in too!

Hey Jeff, I've just read this thread from the start. I love the attention you give to historical detail in your builds. 8) It's great your doing it your way and not following any trends. Is the driveline going to be typical 70s?

Gday Andrew
The driveline is what I have been able to collect for no/very little cost so far.
Its got a 202 that came from a parts car I used, that also had a trimatic.
I have got a commy 5spd from a club member for free (came with flywheel clutch & tailshaft) from a running EK.
202 5spd currently fitted.
My aim is to get it mobile with minimum cost at first, upgrades can come later.
While its style will be flavoured by earlier aussie examples, its not going to be
a straight restoration/interpretation of a aussie gasser. Just that style.
Much like my sedan, aimed at the mid sixties,
but you probably would have never found one back then that looked like it.

As for those seats Rat, they are not to bad really, I have spent long hours
in the ski boat dragging friends up & down the murray, without being uncomfortable,
but driving to Queensland might be a different story.
Not that stock seats are the most comfortable for long trips either.
You know how it is, its all about the look.

Cheers
Jeff
