Pressurising cooling system

Post by Ken »

I blew a bung off my lower thermostat housing last weekend in my 186 EK, engine got hot (of course) but pulled over and switched er off asap

I repaired the bung, carried on happy as

since then, i've blown off radiator hoses twice within a week, top and bottom.

Coincidence?
This has never been an issue til now, and every time this has happened its been when i've been on the gas..

Hoses all seemed tight, run of bad luck? or is the head comin off?

Any input appreciated!

Sounds like blown head gasket pressurizing the cooling system, is there any bubbles when you look in the radiator with the motor running?
