3 Speed Rebuild

Post by woodsy »

We have had to pull the gearbox out of Amandas car as the clutch is buggered. On inspection of the box i could only drain 50ml of fluid out of it as the front oil seal in it is stuffed.

I had a go at pulling it apart today but couldn't get past the pin that holds the cluster gears in position. I have removed the little welsh plugs and tried to access the cluster that way but still no joy.

Any help or diagrams / how to's would be great as we dont have a workshop manual yet.

We may end up replacing the box but arn't having much luck finding one ( we have 1 lead ) in good condition. ALSO should there be a return spring mounted on the clutch fork? As it has the hole there for a spring but the car didn't have one. Just the one that pushes up against the side plates / box.

Cheers

Hit the pin into the shaft and the shaft can be removed from the rear of the box. they are a bugger of a G/box to rebuild .you need to get a workshop manual and follow it . there are quite a few on ebay
