Greg we had trouble with my front screen as well didn't want to sit right on the passenger top corner the first time it went in so we took it out again, turned out it was the trim not sitting in properly, my screen was not from my car and of course being a Ute the trim came from EKmart and must have gotten a little bent when being removed.

Now what is this about a clip or something for the top trim joiner again obviously being a Ute and not originally having trim I did not have a hole, will my joiner stay in place or do I need to fit this clip if so can someone show the clip and how it goes in please.

This is it minus the trim Neil. Utes have same front screen trim as all the other cars just not stainless.

The clip is to hold the trim in place so it stays down at the centre, the little filler piece is just that to fill the gap.

mmmm....I'll have to make a clip and trim piece one day - when I got the ute that whole area was just silicone.

so....I see that the manual tells you where to put a bead of sealant - down where the rubber is...what about the trim - can water just go in that gap and drain away?

Pretty much water gets in there Patrick, which is why the mild steel trims are generally rusted.

Dave just gave me a call out of the blue - what a good bloke! Remembered me from the first mention of the screen rubber and called offering a replacement - great customer service - of course I no longer need it but he made good on the value - very pleasant surprise

Thanks Harv, hey Errol, is that a standard clip? looks like curved spring steel, the one i was supplied is a S/S flat plate, looks about the same size.

Briby, pretty sure it is the original from when I pulled the screen out.

Yes I reckon I’ve tried using mild steel in the past and bent it pulling the ends down, but if they’re not sitting up there is not really an issue.

I may have turned it over, reversing the curve created by tensioning come to think of it. I think it is just mild sheet and your piece of stainless should work.

I didn't take it apart, and being my first old girl, not up to speed on a lot of things.
