insert

Post by rosco »

Hi,
I may very well be wrong but it is my belief that the insert refers to the paint color used on the insert section of the body, ie FB - painted strip,
EK - paint scheme with additional stainless trim to border a contrast colour strip.
Please post if anyone can support my thoughts.

Hi Guys.

The insert number, as has been mentioned, is the paint number for the insert or 'flash' on FC & FB Specials.

AFAIK it isn't used on other model series.

The side flash kits, like the 'Tilley' or 'Canopy Industries' accessories are just that, accessories, & as such were not fitted at the factory, therefore the paint number for those won't be mentioned on the body plate.

Any other numbers or codes stamped on the 'INSERT' line will be special options etc. The EH S4 for example has the 'S4' stamped on this line, as do some EK Hydra-Matics have the RPO 478A stamped there.

I would be very interested in any info regarding numbers stamped on the INSERT line. Send me your numbers.

Dr Terry.

Hi Dr Terry,
Love reading all your post. My Ek is a Hydramatic body number 4 and with no A after the number 4. It also has a few FB features and the car is totally original.
Regards Tony.
