Station Wagon Rear Seat Belts
Station Wagon Rear Seat Belts
Calling all you wagon owners (Hope you are listening Harv)
Can any of you give me an idea of how you put your retractable seat belts into the back of the wagon, possible some measurements too

Re: Station Wagon Rear Seat Belts
I demonstrated these belts, to a rather particular engineer, to be NCOP compliant. The only thing he did not like was drilling and UNF tapping the C-pillar plates. The 10mm plate is not as thick as a UNF nut. Had to retrofit a nut back in there with fishing line, wire and swearing. Other plates are the standard cad-plated ones from HEMCO, BFH’d to the floor pan contours. I have all this written up into a seatbelt guide, but have yet to finish it. PM me an email address if you want a copy of the draft.

... and a face like a dropped sandwich
Spark plug story for today. Number One Son has a VL, which has been upgraded over time as his license allowed. It got the bottom end done, head worked, Skyline box, 31-spline rear end etc but remained naturally aspirated while he was on his P plates. Puts out the same amount of grunt as a factory turbo. Legal for a P-plater, but just.
Now that he has his full licence, it's time to bolt up the snail to the turbo-ready engine. Pulling the plugs, and two had cracked porcelain. Murphy's Law says that on both of them small pieces of ceramic fell into the combustion chamber as the plug came out. Could see them on a borescope, but could not get at them to pick them with a claw. Vacuum cleaner got adapted down to small-bore hose, but could not get the right angle to get at them either. Would not blow out with air.
Head off . Ceramic out, new MLS gasket. Found one rocker bolt stripped, so Helicoiled that while we were there. Head back on, return to normal programming.
Cheers,
Harv

Re: Station Wagon Rear Seat Belts
Question Harv just noticed that the floor support under your back seat (if that’s what you call it) the floor form is corrugated where mine in the FB Reverend wagon is straight or am I missed something here
