New FB bonnet bars

Post by Blacky »

A mate of mine is currently making 4 of these - he is a coach builder by profession.
I dropped a bonnet and bonnet bar off to him this morning so he can finalise the last bits of them and they will be for sale once finished. 2 have sold already at $1750 unchromed Image

Yeah it’s nuts isn’t it - my first EK was $1500 and that was big money for one in 1982 ……

Out of the I have no idea how many cars I have owned that EK is the on the top of the list of the ones I wish I had never never sold .... would love to build a replica as close as possible to it but finding a pair of front seats is near on impossible - they were Paddy Hopkirk "easy riders" :esad:
327 Chev EK wagon, original EK ute for Number 1 Daughter, an FB sedan meth monster project and a BB/MD grey motored FED.

That looks fantastic. Hope some people are keen to buy to make it a goer. I often wonder if it's something a commercial 3D printer could spit out.

Not many brand new bonnet bars about the place. Not much change out of $2.5k once chromed? Being mild steel I assume, the chrome should come up good. Now there is more than one FB in the shed my only spare bonnet bar is a bit nervous.
