Forgot to update - found out that alternators alternate far more efficiently when you tighten the bolt that holds the wires on ……..

Gearbox is pissing oil
Looks like it is coming out of the input shaft plus a bit out of the selector shaft - good news is it’s not coming out of the output shaft so I got one right
